The Position:
The mission for this position is to work under the guidance of and provide assistance to the Senior Controller in preparing and reporting financial information conforming to principles of accounting and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Assists the controller in directing accounting, cash management, and tax handling functions, including establishing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Responsible for daily cash management preparation & reconciliation of the daily cash account.
- Developing and managing proper operational data documentation, data accuracy, and integrity, along with troubleshooting procedures.
- Conducts account reconciliations and analysis.
- Presents various accounting reports and makes suitable observations and recommendations.
- Assist in the company’s month-end and year-end closing.
- Familiar with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Other ad-hoc reporting to the management team.
- This position has been identified as holding responsibility for food safety and the quality of the company. This responsibility extends over all shifts.
- Prepare monthly variance reports for the Senior Management team.
- Responsible for the preparation and reconciliation of grower payments and land lease payments.
- During absence, this position serves as coverage for the following position: Senior Controller
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or 5+ years of equivalent experience
- 2–3 years of practical experience in Tax, Audit, or Finance
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Microsoft Dynamics (Solomon) preferred
