The Position:


We are seeking an experienced Youth Pastor who loves Jesus and has a passion for raising youth for the glory of God. This person will possess a natural ability to pursue the youth in Wellspring Church and the Englewood community through participation in Sunday Worship, other youth ministry events, community involvement, and personal interaction. This individual will build and galvanize a gospel-centric youth ministry that focuses on discipleship in partnership with parents and the body of Wellspring Church. The Youth Pastor will be a Ministry Team Lead and report to the Executive Pastor of Ministry.


Responsibilities: 


Lead Youth Ministry

  • Oversee Youth Ministry Staff, including Assistant Youth Director, Apprentices, and Interns
  • Lead, teach, and oversee Youth Group and Sunday School
  • Build out and lead Youth Milestones (Youth Catechism, Coming of Age experience, Leadership Cohort, etc.)
  • Support the Assistant Youth Director with recruiting, training, and deploying volunteers
  • Develop and participate in a comprehensive strategy for discipleship of youth, including parent support, regular gatherings, Sunday School, discipleship cohorts, contact work, social events, and immersive experiences, such as planning camps, retreats, and other immersive experiences 
  • Promoting and leading student catechism courses for 7th-8th grade and 10th-12th grade students to engage the core tenets of the Christian faith and explore Anglican distinctives 
  • Planning avenues of pursuit for all students in 5th- 12th grades, regardless of engagement in student programming 
  • Equip and support parents as the primary disciplers of their children and provide ongoing, clear parent communication 
  • Engage community partnerships to connect with students not already connected to a church 

Participate in the Family Ministry Team

  • Participate as part of the Ministry Leadership Team (to include vision and strategy, Ministry Lead meetings, special services, collaboration with other ministries, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Children's Ministry and Young Adults Ministry at key transitions - from children's ministry to youth ministry, and youth ministry to young adults

Participate as a Ministry Lead

  • Attend Ministry Lead meetings, participate in casting vision and strategy for the larger church, help with special services, etc.
  • Serve as a pastor in the congregation as needed
  • Equip the congregation to live out our baptismal vows to support young people in their discipleship
  • Advocate for Family Ministry
  • Collaborate with other departments on events or serving opportunities for families


Requirements: 


  • Engage personal faith as a disciple of Jesus 
  • Participate regularly in Sunday Worship as a member of Wellspring Church
  • 5+ years of ministry experience 
  • Proven ability to run a ministry and engage in a complex church system
  • Proven desire to engage with youth
  • Creativity, vision, ability to collaborate, leadership skills 
  • Agreement with Wellspring church’s mission and vision
