The Position


YFC is seeking a Senior Accountant to serve as both a financial expert and trusted advisor to the YFC Foundation and field support teams. You will oversee accounting operations and financial controls for the YFC Foundation, helping manage a growing portfolio of financial needs, including complex gift instruments from high-net-worth donors, and will collaborate closely with movement leaders to ensure sound financial stewardship across the organization.


The Senior Accountant will report to the Accounting Lead and play a vital role in strengthening financial health across the YFC movement through expert guidance, empathy, and ministry-minded problem-solving.



Responsibilities


  • Financial Leadership: Oversee the accounting and financial controls of the YFC Foundation, managing a growing $30M+ portfolio. Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets, reconcile accounts, and lead month-end and year-end closing processes. Ensure compliance and excellence in all financial operations, coordinating annual audits and documentation with precision and integrity.
  • Strategic Financial Support: Serve as a trusted financial advisor to YFC chapters across the movement, addressing complex financial situations with wisdom and empathy. Develop tools, systems, and partner resources that empower local leaders to strengthen their financial understanding and stewardship practices.
  • Foundation and Gift Management: Build and implement YFC Foundation financial services that provide high-touch care for key givers and recipients. Design and facilitate complex giving instruments that align with donor intent and ministry objectives, ensuring that resources are distributed with transparency and impact.
  • Ministry and Culture Engagement: Participate actively in the spiritual life of YFC by engaging in prayer, worship, and devotion as part of the organization’s rhythm. Model humility, grace, and inclusion in leadership and relationships, fostering a culture marked by trust, collaboration, and joyful camaraderie.
  • Fundraising and Mission Advancement: Support YFC’s broader mission by engaging in fundraising and stewardship efforts. Build relationships with donors, participate in events, and help advance the financial sustainability of the movement through faithful generosity and partnership.



Requirements


  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
  • 2–3 years of accounting experience; 5 years preferred
  • Strong accounting acumen with a heart for mission and service
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Proven ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial audiences
  • Experience in nonprofit or fund accounting preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and time management
  • Commitment to YFC’s mission and ability to integrate faith into professional work

  • Remote/Hybrid Location: Denver, CO (Preferred)
  • Travel: Occasional travel to YFC training, events, and chapter visits
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: None
  • Budget Responsibilities: YFC Foundation Financial Management ($30M+)



Salary + Benefits


  • $66,000 - $70,000
